Today is world book day and Elite are doing a book review on our favorite book and putting them on our blogs.
Here's mine!
Dizzy is the story of a daydreaming twelve year old girl whose hippy mother shows up, after years of absence, and takes dizzy for the summer to experience her gypsy life first hand.
When the book starts off dizzy is waiting in anticipation for the only contact she has with her mother all year. Her birthday present is sometimes a dream catcher and other times just a post card. Either way she lives for the chance to hear from her mother "storm" who left her and her father when she was just four years old. But this year instead of just a letter she receives the thing she's wanted for years, her mother in person. Who not only missed her but wants dizzy to come home with her to her...well in truth it's just some hippy's convention. Her father, knowing how erratic and unreliable storm is, of course refuses. But early next morning storm informs dizzy that her father has changed his mind during the night and they have to leave before he wakes up. So they stuff her things into a bag, say a quick goodbye to a thoroughly hung over dad and hit the road in storms beat up mystery mobile. At this point in the story its pretty obvious that dizzy's just been kidnapped by her own mother, but dizzy blinded by love just doesn't know it yet.
This book gets a 10 out of 10 from me as it is amazing, I would recommend dizzy to casual readers and an age period of 12 to 15 year old's, this book is my favourite as it stand's out because it's a dramatic but a surprisingly predictable story
I did not ski today as I have a throat infection.
